A pair of red-capped mushrooms rising from a bed of green moss, each white spot placed by hand. It's painted into the back of a domed rock crystal and set over mother-of-pearl, so the scene holds depth and the ground shifts with the light. This is Essex crystal: reverse intaglio, a technique almost no one still practices. Framed in 18k solid gold with star-set diamonds around the bezel. A little strange, a little folkloric, and made to be kept.
