A seahorse carved from a single piece of Sleeping Beauty turquoise, with a blue sapphire set in 18k yellow gold for the eye.
Sleeping Beauty is known for its color: an even, clear sky blue with almost none of the dark veining found in other turquoise. The mine outside Globe, Arizona stopped producing turquoise in 2012, so the supply is finite. Each ridge of the body and the curl of the tail is carved by hand. The color is uniform; the carving is not. No two are the same.
